    Role Of Play    

You might think your child is just having fun when she gurgles at her teddy bear, builds up a tower of blocks or shakes a rattle. And to a certain extent you’d be right.

But with more than 75 percent of brain development taking place within the first two years, play is crucial in helping your child gain skills that will be essential to them later in life.
    Safety During Play    

Nobody cares more for the safety of your little ones than Early Birds.

We provide an environment where children are free to move, play and explore safely. We have created every structure with the needs of children in mind. Our play environments are designed to deliver the high-quality standard parents expect for their children.

All the toys used at the Early Birds centre undergo ‘kid-proof’ testing to guarantee quality and safety –

Sharp corners, small, removable parts that might be swallowed, battery hatches that are opened by little, determined fingers and toxic, chewable paints, all pose a serious risk to our children and are every parent’s nightmare.

Making sure that the toys we provide your child with are of the highest safety standard available, and won’t cause them any harm, is of paramount importance.

Paints are tested and re-tested for their durability, non-allergenic and non-toxic qualities, every area of design is inspected to ensure that your child can play safely.

Early Birds has invested in a wealth of resources so our teachers can have plenty of guidance when they create their daily lesson plans. Ultimately, experience itself is a great resource. Academy teachers have worked with hundreds of children - so they have a wealth of experience in seeing what is appealing, exciting, and educational for your child.

Experience has shown us that your child will jump right into the toddler classroom life because she'll spend a lot of time doing what all children love - playing. Play provides immeasurable learning opportunities. And the structured play of our curriculum gives toddler teachers many ways to infuse skill building among all different developmental domains: physical, language, socio-emotional and cognitive. Even though at this young age toddlers do not truly play with their peers - they'll play next to other children, but not with them - our teachers lay a foundation for your toddler to eventually learn to play interactively with others.

By constantly listening, talking, describing objects and actions, and expanding your toddler's ever-growing vocabulary, your child's teachers will expose her to critical language building skills. They will also help your child develop self-control while recognizing a healthy expression of growing self-identity. Most importantly, toddler teachers interact with toddlers in a warm, enthusiastic, supportive respectful manner.
Keeping Parents In The Loop    

One of the keys to ensuring the best Academy experience possible for your child and yourself is great communication. We hope you'll speak to us often about what your child is doing at home. For our part, the Centre has many ways to keep you updated on what she does while she's here and what is happening at the Centre.

We provide parents with Progress Report, which tells you how your toddler is doing. The teacher is constantly reviewing your toddler's participation in the various daily activities. The Report also contains a tip explaining how to extend learning at home.

There are plenty of opportunities to connect face-to-face with teachers and the Head Principal at pick-up and drop-off time. If that's not convenient for you, we are always available for an extra conference or meeting should the need arise.
