EMDI institute of Media & Communication is run by Grey Cells, a listed entity on BSE. EMDI is currently the only vocational trainer providing all spheres of event management, advertising, PR & radio programming under one roof across India & Middle East.It has centers running in Mumbai, Pune , Bangalore & Dubai providing best trained talent to this booming segment through world class training with a managerial perspective. EMDI was established in India in 2002 to provide professional training for the event management & media industry. Industry stalwarts were asked - what were those key skills that they werelooking at in new recruits, and accordingly curricula and training content was structured to fulfill this gap.
Within the first year EMDI trained over 120 students and there has been no looking back since then. In 2003, EMDI opened centresin Pune & Bangalore and in 2004, they opened their first international operations at Dubai Knowledge Village.
Since 2004, EMDI went ahead and diversified their course offerings and launched a programme in Public Relations.
All the courses are based on practical hands-on delivery using an Experience Transfer Approach to training. For instance, tofurther your career in Advertising or Communication, you will be trained by Advertising or PR professionals.
In 2008 EMDI was re-branded EMDI Institute of Media & Communication. In 2009 they launched centres in Delhi NCR & Vashi and in 2010 setup operations in Thane & Indore.
2012 has now seen EMDI take the next step – with their opening of another international centre in Africa - the city of Kampala, Uganda is now ready to train the next set of media professionals. The recent growth of festivals & events as an industry around the world means that the industry now includes events of all sizes from the Olympics down to a breakfast meeting for ten business people. The Global Public Relationsindustry grew in 2010, ending the year with fee income of at least $8.8 billion according to The Holmes Report
